Joyce Burnell passed away in 2011 at 90 years of age. She
lived in Oakville, near Toronto in Canada. One of her many campaigns
led to saving a white oak tree. She and her community raised over
$350,000. Bronte Road is still being widened, but the new road is going
around the tree.
"Still Standing" is a fourteen
minute film in which Joyce explains that her 80's have been the most
exciting decade of her life, and that saving that tree is just one of
her highlights.
"Worlds Away" is about a farmer who returns to work,
after her mother has had a stroke. It's about grieving,
yet getting on with life.
